1/2/2023 0 Comments The munchables wiiThe Munchables (also known as Tabemon in Japan) is an action and sometimes platform game, where you can use the Wii remote and Nunchuck, Classic controller and Gamecube controller. The whole story is ok, it's a little weird in a certain part and that's not just because it's fictional or anything like that (more on that later on), but it's lighthearted and has a humoristic tone and flow behind it, and while the story is nothing new, it's kid friendly and it really doesn't take itself too seriously, but when the story is being told whether you start and finish a level, the way it represents felt like lacking interest in it or felt like it could've been represented in a different style, and there are other moments where the game does take itself seriously, and while it feels a little off the mark, it does it well, but as such the story does its job and it's just ok. Muchables from NAMCO is good for you.Planet Star Ving has been invaded by the Tabemon pirates ! and stolen the powerful treasures called The Legendary Orbs ! and it's up to The Great Elder's heroes who are the muchables, named Chomper and Munchy, to retrieve the Legendary Orbs and stop the Tabemon monsters' leader's master plan ! GamerBoy just finished the game – it’s the first one to hold his interest that long – and he (I) couldn’t be prouder. After all, you never know when they’re going to “go bad” and launch evil plots against us all! The music is catchy, the gameplay is easy – yet challenging for pre-teens and kids – and maybe your kids will eat their veggies from now on. My favorite of these is a Chocolate puddle and a cluster of grapes. But don’t worry, they’re all bad! Chomper eats small veggies, grows in size, and then can take on a Bass creature. Chomper, or one other character, and some kind of Onion guru teaches you to, gluttonously eat veggies. It’s sort of a 3D Pac-Man, only it encourages kids to eat their veggies. Starting with the pun-filled intro (alien pirates are empowering veggies to take over the planet Star-Ving) and then the soft-serveseque “plops” that come from the back of your character which the game calls “orbs.” In fact, I’m betting the translation to English has softened a lot of the gastro-humor – would the ESRB give an E-10 because of poop jokes? Maybe.Īnyway the poop jokes are hidden (I know because six-year old GamerBoy didn’t notice a single one. Munchables is for the Wii and it’s from NAMCO/BANDAI which means the game is bound to be clever and quirky, and it is. Good thing the enemy are evil possessed vegetables. Yet, in a world filled with virtual violence and mayhem comes a game that asks youngsters to cruelly eat the enemy.
